In the PACT program, I had the opportunity to make a difference in the lives of my clients. My client was frustrated that she was stuck in the same old visitation room at MDDHS for every visit. She wondered why she didn’t have the right to take her children out to do fun activities that could form pleasant family memories together.
I gave her a suggestion. I recommended that she take the initiative to participate in the services her foster care worker set up without needing a reminder from her foster care worker. She took my advice and began attending parent education classes. She has now received permission from her foster care worker to have visits with her child at different parks around the city.
I can tell how happy that has made her. The kids love it too!
